1. MENTORING

Mentoring is a major part of both prevention and restoration and one of our greatest volunteer needs.

  • Women: Mentor Human Trafficking Survivors, Foster Care Youth
  • Organizations:  City Without Orphans, Families Together, and County
  • Men: Mentor Sex Offenders/ Johns Getting Their Lives Back Together, Foster Care Youth.
  • Organizations: To Know Him Ministries, New Creation Ministries, County services

2. PROVIDE AFTERCARE RESOURCES

We need resources for survivors. Here are some ways to help:

  • Pink Pack Project: Put together backpacks filled with necessities and helpful items, which will be given to survivors.
    • Organization: CVJC
  • Emergency Housing/ Safe Houses: Provide temporary housing emergency housing for rescued survivors
    • Organization: CVJC
  • Provide Other Aftercare Needs:
    • gas gift cards
    • hotel vouchers
    • gift cards for groceries and meals
    • hygiene products
    • gift cards/cash to buy necessities such as underwear
    • other personal items
    • phone cards.

3. OUTREACH

We are currently evaluating outreach practices at this time. Please contact us directly if you are interested in outreach opportunities.

4. PREVENTION

Mentoring foster youth is a major work in prevention. These are other opportunities

  • Sexual Addiction Support Hotline Volunteer Counselor

  • Help And Equip Church/Community Regarding Sexual Addiction
    • Organization: New Creation Ministries

5. PREVENTION: FOSTER/ SUPPORT FOSTER FAMILIES

  • Be a Supporting Church

  • Be a Foster Family
    • Organizations: City Without Orphans, Families Together Foster Family Agency

6. PRAYER

Join CVJC’s prayer network and or that of our partner organizations.

7.  AWARENESS

Help get information to possible victims about services and/ or build awareness in your community.

  • Hang Posters/Awareness Materials To educate the public and get vital information out to
    victims.

  • Help Bring Organizational/Community Training to your group/workplace/church.
    • Organizations: Central Valley Against Human Trafficking
  • Create An Awareness Activity/Event. Use your gifts and your sphere of influence to raise
    understanding of the issue.

8. ADVOCACY

Help speak on behalf of those affected by human trafficking

  • Write Letters To Representatives
    • Organizations: See CVJC website
  • Support Prop 35 ( CASE Act, Caseact.org)
    • Organizations: California Against Slavery, CVJC  for local work.
  • Reach Out To Vulnerable Communities.
    • Organizations: CVFC, Centro La Familia, US. ICE Dept.

9. FINANCIAL SUPPORT/ FUNDRAISING

  • Support Our Local Organizations Financially.

  • Help Fundraise And Raise Awareness through the Arts and Fashion as an artist or contributor.
